On Thursday, Sept. 25, Metis Secure led a workshop on Mass Notification at the annual convenetion of North Carolina’s premier public school facility management organization, the NCPSMA.

Metis Secure discussed:

  • The types of emergency public schools typically face, from building malfunctions such as water main breaks to extreme weather and criminal threats
  • The 5 capabilities school safety leaders should look for in an effective emergency system
  • An overview of advanced IP emergency systems
  • New options these flexible systems open up for school and district administrators. For example, these systems give school and district personnel the power to deliver high-speed, actionable alerts through equipment the district already owns (IP phones, computer screens, PA systems, etc.). These systems also provide a direct hotline to local police and School Resource Officers, so responders can get to the scene rapidly if help is needed.
